For a Leading Society among
Scientific Societies in Korea
Welcome to KoSFoST

The Korean Society of Food Science and Technology (KoSFoST) founded in 1968 is the first science society for the professionals in the field of food science and technology in Korea. For the past 50 years, KoSFoST has contributed substantially to the academic promotion and development of food industry by providing scientific and technical information to the community as well as the general public.

The society is one of the most active and the largest science societies among more than 300 societies listed in National Research Foundation in Korea for the last fifty years.

In order to fulfill the mission, KoSFoST publishes 「Food Science and Biotechnology」 (FSB), an English journal indexed in SCIE, IF 3.231. FSB is is evaluated as one of the most competitive international journals in the field of food science and biotechnology, ranking 70th out of 143 journals. As a result, it was ranked in the top 48.6% and entered the Q2 journal. Along with FSB, 「Korean Journal of Food Science and Technology」 has been published bimonthly and 「Food Science and Industry」 quarterly.

Kwang-Won Lee
President of KoSFoST

KoSFoST provides international symposium and annual meeting for the exchange of ideas and research findings in the community. The '2023 KoSFoST International Symposium and Annual Meeting' will be held at ICC JEJU, Jeju on June 28-30, 2023 with main theme of 「Sustainable Food Innovation: A bridge to the Future for All」. To feed the world's 9.3 billion people, 60% more food must be produced by 2050, necessitating the development of next-generation food production and processing technology. Based on the potential of the KoSFoST, this International Symposium and Annual Meeting can provide a chance to clarify the path of K-Food in order to be at the forefront of the needs of this new era while also actively communicating with the Korean food sector.

KoSFoST welcomes overseas food professionals and societies to cooperate and foster better relations for academia and food industry internationally. Thank you.
