Dr. Sang-Hee Lee is an anthropologist, specializing in human evolution. She holds degrees from Seoul National University (BA in Archaeology) and University of Michigan (MA and PhD in Anthropology). After working as a postdoctoral researcher in Japan (Graduate University of Advanced Studies), she returned to US and is a Professor in Anthropology at University of California Riverside. Dr. Lee has published nearly 40 single-authored or co-authored journal articles and book chapters in topics of human evolution, sexual dimorphism, brain size evolution, longevity, and human evolution in northeast Asia. She is well-known for her writing for the general public in various topics of human evolution through newspaper and magazine columns. She wrote a best-selling and award-winning book in Korea with Shin-Young Yoon, “인류의 기원 (Human Origins)” (2015), and in English, “Close Encounters with Humankind: A Paleoanthropologist Investigates Our Evolving Species” (W.W. Norton) (2018). The book is also translated into Spanish, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Greek, and Turkish. She was elected AAAS Fellow in recognition of her contribution to science communication.

Thomas Jeffrey Caso is the Chief Executive Officer of Nestlé Korea. He holds a Bachelor of Art in English from the University of Vermont, a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from New York University, and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Maryland School of Law. He was actively involved with Catholic Relief Services for 6 years before joining Nestlé Waters North America as a Sales Manager. Subsequently, he held various positions such as General Manager of the Horn of Africa at Nestlé S.A., Head of Sales and Managing Director of the Nestlé Central Africa Region, and Managing Director of the Nestlé Atlantic Market. His specialties include Corporate General Management, Strategic Planning/Analysis, Brand Management, Category Management, Sales Leadership, Continuous Improvement/LEAN, Program and Project Management, Representation, Corporate Governance, Legal Affairs, Policy Analysis, and Staff Development/Management.

Prof. Dr. Jochen Weiss holds a B.S. and M.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Karlsruhe in Germany and a Ph.D. degree in Food Science from the University of Massachusetts. He is a full professor at the University of Hohenheim in Stuttgart, Germany where he chairs the Department of Food Material Science. He currently also is the Director of the Institute of Food Science and Biotechnology. His research work focuses on fundamental and applied physical phenomena and material behavior of foods with an emphasis on applying this knowledge to biopolymer and lipid systems to generate meat and meat analogue products. Over the past years, he has authored and coauthored 426 research articles on food science and engineering in refereed journals, 15 book chapters, 2 books and 12 patents. He was named a highly cited researcher in the field of Food & Agriculture by Thomson-Reuter from 2014-2019. Prof. Weiss served as Vice President of the University of Hohenheim from 2011-2017, and as Interim Director of Education in EIT Food from 2016-2018, the European Unions’ Knowledge and Innovation Community on Food. He also served as the academic co-chair of the European Technology Platform Food4Life from 2015-2020.

Yunil Hwang is the Chief Technology Officer of R&D External Relations at CJ Cheiljedang. He holds his BS, MS, and Ph.D degrees from Seoul National University, Western Illinois University, and Carnegie Mellon University, respectively. He held a variety of positions including General Manager & Team Leader at LGChem, Vice President & Head of Chemical Practice at Arthur D. Little, Vice President at Samsung Fine Chemicals, and Director & Head of Energy Lab. SAIT at Samsung Electronics, and Professor of Industry-Academy Relations at Seoul National University. His research has been published in prestigious journals such as Journal of Animal Science, Nature Communications, Scientific Reports, Angewante Chemies, and various others. His research interests include engineering biology, bio-based PHA, Li-ion battery, electronic materials, and polymer physics etc.
