The Korean Society of Food Science and Technology (KoSFoST) founded in 1968 is the first science society for the professionals in the field of food science and technology. For the past 50 years, KoSFoST has contributed substantially to the promotion and development by providing scientific and technical information to the community as well as the general public.

The society is one of the most acting and the largest science societies among more than 300 societies listed in National Research Foundation in Korea for the last fifty years.

In order to fulfill the mission, KoSFoST publishes 「Food Science and Biotechnology」 (FSB), an English journal indexed in SCIE, awarded for 'Elsevier National Journal Award' and 'Knowledge Creation Award' by KISTI under Ministry of Education at 2009. Along with FSB, the publication of bimonthly 「Korean Journal of Food Science and Technology」 and quarterly 「Food Science and Industry」 have been done.

KoSFoST provides annual meeting and international symposium for the exchange of ideas and research findings in the community. The '2019 KoSFoST International Symposium and 86th Anniversary Annual Meeting' is held in Songdo Convensia, Incheon with main theme of 「New Paradigm for Future Food Science」 on June 26-29, 2019. The scientific programs host over microbiome, nano technology, food in future, Asian fermented food, and social issues on GMO and food safety. I am welcoming all members of KoSFoST and overseas food scientists and technologists.

KoSFoST welcomes overseas food professionals and societies to cooperate and foster better relations for academia and food industry internationally. Thank you.
